1s xcellency
Sir,
Sir . T. Piggott to Governor, datel
21st. August, 1903.
121
Supreme Court,
Hongkong, 21st. August, 1908.
I have the honour to acknowledge Your XCALLandy
letter of 20th. August, and to beg that the question as to ny
vacation leave may be referred to the Secretary of State.
I do not contend that I am entitied to ce absent
from the Colony during the vacation of the Court, as there ray
be special reasons why the Chief Justice should remain in the
Colony during the Court vacation, and why therefore leave of
absence is granted to the Chief Justice during the Court vaca-
tion this does not, count as Hull Fay Leave.
It may be convenient if I mention the fact that
there is no vacation in the Summary Court, and therefore the
question under fiscussion relates only to the Chief Justice.
Sir Matthew Nathan, K.C.V.G.
I have, etc.
$1.
w. T. Piggott,
Chief Justice.
